The regulations below govern the penalties for the following services:
The ticket inspectors, authorised by the Province of Padua, are required to issue penalties as Administrative Police Officers.
The amount of the fines is the following:
Minimum + EUR 50.00 (+ ticket price), if the fine is settled within 5 days.
+ EUR 115.00 (+ ticket price), including the costs of the proceedings, if the fine is settled between the 6th and the 60th day.
After 60 days, the fine is forwarded to the Municipality of Padua – Municipal Police – Penalty Procedures Department pursuant to Article 16 of Law 689/1981.
The payment can take place:
The fine applies also when the holder of a valid personal season ticket cannot exhibit it to the ticket inspector when requested, or within the following fifteen days at the central ticket offices in Via Rismondo 28 or Piazzale della Stazione, provided that the season ticket has not been regularised after the inspection. In this case, the fined season ticket holder will be required to pay € 6.00 as administrative charges for handling the case.
The offender may appeal within 30 days of the official report or notification thereof to the Mayor of the Municipality of Padua – Via del Municipio, 1 - 35122 Padua, by sending written defences and documents, or by requesting a hearing pursuant to Article 18 of Law 689 of 24 November 1981.
Article 37 et seq. of R.L. 25/1998 as amended and supplemented regulates the administrative penalties for offending users for the following irregularities:

The Penalties Office may not cancel an Official Report issued by the Ticket Inspectors.
When performing their duties, the Ticket Inspectors are Public Officials. Under current legislation, offences committed against a public official, refusal to disclose personal details, violence, threats or resistance, are punishable by arrest and imprisonment.
Filing an appeal does not suspend the payment deadlines for minimum/reduced fine amount.
Once a fine has been paid, it is no longer possible to file an appeal against it, and any defensive writs and subsequent appeals are rendered inadmissible.
