Sali sul tram e paga contactless

There's an alternative way to buy a € 1,70 TU1 urban ticket: all you have to do is get on board and TAP your contactless payment card on the reader! Your new ticket will be invisible and sustainable.

Already available on the tram service, starting from 30 May 2024 this simplified payment method is also active on an experimental basis on lines 3 and 16 of the Padua urban bus service. With your credit/debit card you can purchase a virtual ticket directly using the validator on board the bus.

PURCHASE OF TU1 TICKET € 1,70 – 90 MINUTES

Approach your contactless card to the reader with the green sticker to purchase a TU1 ticket. The TU1 fare applies to journeys using any means of transport (bus and/or tram) tat originate and terminate within the boundaries of the Municipality of Padua, i.e. the Orange Zone.

ONE CARD | ONE TRIP

Each card is valid for one person. If you are traveling with others, each person must have their own card or purchase the ticket through the other systems available by Busitalia Veneto (shops, Self Service, on board, via app).

ONE TAP PER JOURNEY

If you change transportation within 90 minutes from the first validation, you do not need to tap again.

Moreover, if 3 or more TAPs are made on the same day, spaced  more than 90 minutes apart, the system charges the best fare of € 4,70, which corresponds to the cost of a daily ticket.

PAY CONTACTLESS

PAYMENT CIRCUITS ACCEPTED
In order to pay CONTACTLESS, you must have a valid contactless payment card (physical or virtual) from one of the circuits currently enabled: Mastercard and Visa.

TICKET TYPE
CONTACTLESS payment can be used to purchase an ordinary Pdua TU1 urban ticket for € 1,70, valid for 90 minutes. The ticket will be in digital form (not paper).

WHERE TO BUY THE TICKET
CONTACTLESS purchasing is active on the Padua trams and, on an experimental basis, on lines 3 and 16 of the Padua urban bus service: this method is in addition to the others already available.

HOW TO BUY THE TICKET
To pay CONTACTLESS, you will need to TAP your payment card (physical or virtual) on the card reader located at the central doors of the tram, and wait for the signal confirming that the operation has been completed. The reader will not issue a paper receipt.

PURCHASE COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY
The signal that the operation has been successfully completed is a green writing on the screen of the device.

PURCHASE NOT COMPLETED
If the operation is unsuccessful, the writing on the screen of the device remains blue (card not recognised) or turns red (card not enabled for ticket purchase).*

TICKET INSPECTION
In the event of inspection
, show the Busitalia Veneto staff the payment card with which the operation was carried out and provide the last 4 numbers of the card.

SWITCH TO ANOTHER BUS OR TRAM
If you switch to another bus or tram
, it is not necessary to tap again to confirm the ticket if it is valid (within 90 minutes from the first tap).

The card readers set up for purchasing in contactless mode are on trams and, temporarily, on an experimental basis only on urban lines 3 and 16. In contactless mode it is only possible to purchase the ordinary urban ticket for Padua TU1 (valid for 90 minutes, fare € 1,70  which allows you to travel exclusively in the Orange Zone. To also travel in the Blue Zone, it is necessary to obtain a TU2 travel ticket with the other available purchase methods.

* If the operation is unsuccessful, you must promptly obtain a valid ticket in order not to incur any penalties. If you are not sure about the outcome of the operation, you can make a new TAP to check if the green light on the led located on the top of the device turns on: no additional ticket will be charged.
